27 Dresses

The script of 27 Dresses, written by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada), is full of predictable stock characters: Katherine Heigl (from Grey’s Anatomy) gave a surprisingly good performance for the physical slapstick requirements while radiating a plain-jane-girl-next-door appeal that is difficult to resist; James Marsden is the talented news journalist specializing in wedding news while maintaining his charm just as in Enchanted; Malin Ackerman is suitably the irritating slutty baby sister (similar to her role in The Heartbreak Kid), the attractive boss is Edward Burns (whom I can’t recall his other acting works).

There is totally no novel in this Cinderella story. It is very obvious that t
he plot draws majority of its ideas from the other predecessor romantic comedies. Although there is no creativity in the whole movie, i guess predictability is pretty acceptable by audiences. Despite the relatively superficial storyline, this film keeps the audiences entertained with the sheer charisma of the charming cast.

i esp love the ending narration about
Jane wearing her 28th dress and admitting that though Kevin wasn't what she was looking for, he looked at her the way she always wanted to be looked at as she walks down the aisle. *Awwww so sweet*

27 Dresses
is a standard romantic comedy fare which provides you some very pleasant and witty performances. Sure it is predictable, but what do you want in such movie? A sad ending? Nah… that will not be suitable for such season where V Day is approaching.
