The Howl of the Loser Dog

Accidentally chanced upon Japanese female writer Junko Sakai's work: The Howl of the Loser Dog; which is about lives of single 30ish Japanese women.

In the book, Sakai stated with some degree of pride that although many over-30 singles in Tokyo, like herself, were seen as losers; this was not necessarily how they saw themselves because they were satisfied with their lives and their achievements.

Indeed.
In my own circle of friends, i have a couple of gfs that fit this description perfectly.
In fact, many have also lamented that nowadays men lack confidence and find women like them intimidating because they are well-educated, financially independent, smart and intellectual.
This could be one of the contributing reason why people now marry late.
It takes them longer to find the One.

i believed that marriage is a lifestyle that one chose. It is an important option in our life but definitely not the only one and certainly not the only one that guarantees happiness.
As long as u're happy in your current status and is comfortable with it, why bother what the others think or what is happening to the other women.
