Warning: Overload of photos in this entry.
Because it's a brand new year... my 1st post for this decade shall be a happy entry.
Because it's a brand new year... my 1st post for this decade shall be a happy entry.
So i shall share my last holiday trip in 2009.
Isn't holiday the most wonderful thing in life!
It's not how many things u bought back, what food u ate, what sights u saw; it's the whole experience once across Spore custom.
And i so want to experience more more more!
8D7N of Winter Seoul 6D of package tour & 2D of self-exploration.
With my sis V & Kapi, jt & his bro ND.
1st time travel with ND & surprisingly it turned out better than expected.
It's also good that someone in our group knows how to appreciate Kimchi!
Because of the huge no. of photos we snapped from 8 cammies, i need to collage most of them. Anyway, click on each to expand & see more clearly if u want.
Jetting off on 21 Nov 09
And after 6hrs+ of drifting in & out of sleep mode, eating unappetizing plane food & indulging in our own mp3 (coz there's no individual entertainment set on KAL);
we finally set foot on Kimchi Land!
5D of touring Seoul with our guide. Exploring 2 theme parks
Everland
which did not really excite us much coz their mascots are stranger to us and we're not adventurous to try out those risky rides.
But the Safari park within the theme park is quite an experience seeing so many white tigers & the liogres (baby from a tiger & lion).
Also never knew that Bears can be trained to stand up, turn rounds!
Lotte World (a theme park comprising indoor & outdoor areas)
Another unrecognizable mascots
And the unadventurous us have fun playing Bumper Car, riding Carousel, watching 4D movie & shooting down cute plush toys!
Stayed at 2 types of resorts
Skii Resort @ YongPyong (which was the filming site of Winter Sonata)
where we had fun skiing for the first time, jumping on snow for the first time, having snowball fight for the first time & building mini snowman for the first time!

And then from the coldness, we shifted to Hanwha Waterpia Hotspring Resort
where we soaked in all kinds of hotspring varying in diff temperature both indoor & outdoor.
The experience of walking in the less than 10deg temperature wearing only swimsuit is coldness beyond barehand holding icecubes & biting into frozen ice cream.
But the moment u jumped into the hotspring, awwwww shiok!
ok no pic to show coz it's no photography inside.
Being tourists of coz we must visit some tourist sites and snap some been-there-done-that pics
Kyongbok Palace with chinese inspired architect style.
Presidential Blue House which we did not enter.
Only took pic from outside coz it was raining.
Instead we hide in the coach & ND couldn't resisted bringing these reddish maple leaves back.
Mount Sorak National Park
Don't ask me why the Bear Statue, coz i also no idea. Hah!
After a 10mins walk up the hundreds of steps, it was a panoramic view from the mountain top with snow capped mountains & trees.
At that moment, the sun setting sky seems so touchable-ly near.
And tried our hands doing Kimchi
Out of the 5 of us, only ND love Kimchi.
Do what they do & eat what they eat is the motto when overseas.
So of coz we had to eat what the local Koreans dine.
And we discovered that Koreans eat an overdose of vegetables!
Not that i don't take vegetables but too much of it for everyday can be a turn off.
Our no. 1 fav among all the meals
But all of us stink badly after this meal due to the smoke from the stove.
no. 2 fav
Nourishing & shiok!
and no. 3 fav
minus out the bland Nian Gao
Now this is what i called a Bibimbap.
Those served in our local foodcourts are trash!
How about some live octopus? eeeeeek!
And the experts that made this trip enriching
That pretty much sum up our package tour trip.
We spent the next 3D exploring Seoul on our own.
Firstly we have to figure the way to our hotel
And dragged our luggages taking subway & through the street
After settling down at our cozy Co-Op hotel, we made our way to the first stop of self-exploring.
Seoul N Tower
After taking subway, changed public bus & walked up a steep slope, we finally reached.
Because of the misty weather, view up on the Obversation deck wasn't very clear.
We also visited the Teddy Bear Museum which is the 2nd such museum other than the 1st one in Jeju Island.
Outside the tower, the fence is lined up with Love Locks.
Then we shop & shop & shop at various places.
But it was more of leisurely stroll along different parts of Seoul to see see look look than victoriously shopping coz its all selling winter wear everywhere!
Dongdaemun
Namdaemum
look like a huge pasa malam to me
Myongdong
easily our most fav plc coz the fashion here are more in-trend & we chanced upon a 3storey high Krispy Kreme outlet & many many skincare shops.
Ewha
where a Women University is located hence lotsa chic lil' shops.
And i love the street side lined with don't-what-trees, wooden benches & red tiles pavement.

U never know what u can find around the corner or within a small street aisle.
A White Xmas tree & 2 Jumping weirdos
Honggik
which is also a local university area thus many small shops & stalls along the street too.
We even shopped at ChungBu market to get those super crispy & addictive seaweeds
Speaking of food, we decided we had enough of korean food and so decided to eat anything but korean food when we get to choose!
Lotteria Fast Food
Crispy Fried Chix with beer
Krispy Kreme donuts
Breakfast by the window in a Paris insipired cafe
Enjoying Italian pasta & steak sitting by the window and watch the traffic wizzed by.
Japanese Sushi with a round of game to excite up the meal.
And the men get to play a match of baseball game
Lugging our luggages through the street to take airport express bus
Our 8D Winter Korea trip ended with 4 fully filled luggages, no snow at all & me puking more than 8x! 吃设么,吐设么
