jt has been yearning for a retreat for some time.
Since it's his birthday
Hence, off we go to Bali
On the plane, he reads his newspaper & catch a nap; while i cried watching The Cove
Window seat view

After 2 & half hours, we finally reached Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport.
This airport's practice is to neatly arrange passengers' baggage besides the Baggage Carousel instead of on it?
By the time we cabbed to hotel & checked in, it was already way past 9pm.
The hotel we stayed
Very clean, very good location coz it's directly opp to Kuta Beach, very well provided facilities

Pool Basketball is no easy task
*tired*
Badminton is so much easier!
Such a long time since i last touched a badminton racket.
*enjoy*
Besides pool, the next best way to soak in water is to the beach, to the beach, to the beach

While he tan, i hide under shade
Things that accompanied me
Besides Kuta Beach, we also headed over to Seminyak beach.
The taxi drive who charged us a flat rate after much negotiation, dropped us on the main road and we had to walk miles of road to reach the beachside. Thereafter i decided not to trust those taxi drivers who refuse to go by meter.
Alas! We reached!
At the beach, there are kite vendor, sarong vendor, accessories vendor, fruits vendor & of coz stray dogs.
Much more peaceful beach compared to Kuta
Shots from Diana Mini
Stumped upon Ku De Ta - the latest "in" place at Bali now!
Indeed very nice & conducive place for idling a relaxing day away.
i swear i shall come back next time!
Speaking of beach, u cannot say u've been to Bali if u did not visit Jimbaran & enjoy grilled seafood by the beach sunset.
It's World Cup season! What's the match today uh?
That's us
So we settled down at Menega Cafe which was clearly the right choice as it's the most crowded among the stretch of restaurants offering similar fare.
Our yummy yummy grilled seafood spread
Are u drooling now?
Speaking of food, i still don't understand why we chose that to have Chinese food on our first night... why eat Shanghai food in Bali when there are so many other better choices!
So wrong!
Anyway, that was a bad choice!
Luckily i satisfied my craving for Rotiboy fresh from oven!
Besides beachfront dinner, we had lunch by the pool side too.
Crispy Bebek + pizza
In Bali, beside food & beach, what else is must do?
MASSAGE!!!
90mins for less than SGD $10!
Shiok!
And we also pampered ourselves with 20fingers massage spa package.
No pic as i fell asleep.
Here is jt enjoying pedicure. His virgin experience!
With a filled stomach & rejuvenated from massage, we explored the Kuta Street
The shops are still selling little arty crafts & paintings, colourful sun dresses & Bintang Tees
Enough of the heat, let's go to air con mall
Happy jt with his purchase.
And we discovered another cool place!
A beachfront chill out place right in the shopping mall.
Other than traveling around in taxis & walking, we sat on a horse carriage.
First in my entire lifetime!
the sounds from the horse's hoof - Glek Kok Glek Kok Glek Kok
All trips must come to an end.
And when the end is here, we can only bide goodbye
i will be back next Jan!
